NEW RANGE OF PIMLICO MODEL VANS AS FIRST BATCH ZOOM OUT OF DEPOT TO SUPPORT CHARITY

October 26, 2011

Pimlico Plumber’s replica model blue and white vans have proved so popular, new versions of the miniature fleet have been ordered.

Pimlico Plumbers van fans and model collectors will soon be able to pick up the latest range of Pimlico’s fleet of Volkswagen T5 vans. The new limited edition models will now feature a selection of some of Pimlico’s famous personalised number plates: ‘SHOWER’, ‘B1DET’ and ‘S1NK’.

The first batch of collectable vans went on sale earlier this year with a range of Pimlico’s famous personalised number plates: ‘BOG1’, ‘DRA1N’ and ‘W4TER’.

Through the sale of the collectables, Pimlico Plumbers has raised £1,500 for charity.

Costing £10 each, 10 per cent from the sale of each model is donated to the Rhys Daniel Trust, which builds ‘home from home’ accommodation close to hospitals for parents of seriously ill children.

The central London-based company has been inundated with orders from toy car collectors across the world, as far away as Australia, United States of America and New Zealand, since the vans went on sale in February.

Pimlico’s fleet of 150 vans have become a London icon on the streets of the capital, particularly for their plumbing-related personalised number plates.

Charlie Mullins, Managing Director of Pimlico Plumbers, said: “Customers and friends have, for a long time, suggested we should have some made because the real vans are such an iconic sight on the streets of London. However, I never thought they would be this popular.”

“We had so many emails and letters asking if we were going to extend the range, we got straight onto the manufacturers to create the new models.

“Creating the new range will also be great for the Rhys Daniel’s Trust as they will continue to receive a proportion of each model van we sell.”
